Mechanical Engineering Internship by Ajax Systems: 2nd intake

We invite students to participate in the “Mechanical Internship” program in the field of automation by Ajax Systems. The course is held in partnership with professors from the ASNK Department of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute as part of the Ajax Next initiative. Participants will gain unique experience from Ajax Systems professionals, which will be valuable for starting their career path.

🎓 Start date: October 8
🎓 Duration: October – January (2 sessions per week)
🎓 Commitment: 4-6 hours per week
🎓 Location: Instrumentation Faculty, KPI

How it works 👉🏻

The internship offers students a unique opportunity to design and implement engineering projects in the field of automation and mechanization of production processes. Interns will work through the full cycle of creating mechanized devices, covering all stages from design to production.

What you need for the sessions 👉🏻

Your skills and willingness to develop in the field of applied mechanics and automation. Ajax will provide all necessary materials, devices, and components.

During the course, you will 👉🏻

  • Master the skills to create your own projects: from manipulators to warehouse systems;
  • Gain practical engineering experience;
  • Have the opportunity to get employed at Ajax Systems after completing the course.

Registration form: https://forms.gle/jvRb82uPe8wgT4pE7

Applications are accepted until September 26.
We will conduct a brief introduction-interview with the selected participants.

The laureate of the Kyiv City Mayor’s Award: Hanna Dorozhynska

We are pleased to announce that Senior Lecturer of the Department of Information and Measuring Technologies (IMT) at the Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering (FIE), Hanna Dorozhynska, has been awarded the Kyiv City Mayor’s Prize for outstanding achievements in the development of the capital of Ukraine.

In June 2021, Hanna successfully defended her doctoral dissertation and was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Metrology and Information-Measuring Technology. Her research, dedicated to enhancing sensors based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR), has proven highly relevant in the chemical industry, medicine, and other fields.

Hanna Dorozhynska is actively engaged in improving SPR sensors for the analysis of gaseous and liquid environments, refining their metrological characteristics. Her studies aim to expand practical applications in areas such as gas and liquid analysis, demonstrating significant scientific impact. She collaborates with other research institutions, contributing to the development of express methods for detecting viruses and the polymerization characteristics of photopolymer compositions.

Hanna Dorozhynska not only makes a substantial contribution to the advancement of modern technologies but also validates the high scientific standing of Ukrainian research. She serves as an exemplary figure for students and faculty, inspiring them to strive for high achievements and creativity.

We congratulate Ms. Hanna Dorozhynska on receiving the Prize and wish her continued success in her scientific career. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to her for the significant contribution to the development of our faculty and the field of science as a whole.

Advanced System Development Technologies I

Part of the book series: Studies in Systems, Decision and Control (SSDC, volume 511)

Editors: Mykhailo Bezuglyi, Nadiia Bouraou, Volodymyr Mykytenko, Grygoriy Tymchyk, Artur Zaporozhets

This monograph is dedicated to the 125th Аnniversary of the establishment of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. For more than 100 years of its existence, this university has formed dozens of world-renowned scientific schools and developed hundreds of scientific areas. Among them, a prominent place is occupied by research on the creation of precision systems and technologies. The monograph reflects some of the results obtained at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in this field. The chapters of the monograph are grouped into three areas: optoelectronic technologies, medical technologies, and technological support.

The first chapter is devoted to some topical issues of optoelectronic instrumentation development. A model of signal transformations in thermal imaging observations is considered, on the basis of which methods for calculating the spatial and energy resolution of thermal imagers are proposed. The methodological bases of improvement of multichannel optoelectronic systems of remote observations with image fusion are proposed. They include methods of constructive coordination of the characteristics of the system units, a mechanism for adaptive selection of the best way to combine spectral images, and means of experimental determination of the main characteristics of the system. It is shown that the developed specialized software with modern global optimization algorithms can automate the optical design process. In particular, this approach has been successfully tested in the design of various optical systems with constant and variable parameters.
